Here at Female Choice Plumbing we love a challenge and are always excited to work on unique and interesting hot water systems. Last week we received a call from one of our loyal customers who was experiencing issues with her Rheem 315L twin element electric hot water system model 16231577. She had no hot water to the property and required assistance immediately! Luckily one of our plumbers was just finishing up another job on the area and arrived on site almost before the customer had time to put down the phone. We had been to this customer’s property on multiple occasions in the past for a series of drainage related issues and she had always been more than satisfied with our service, but this was the first time we had had the opportunity to work on her Rheem twin element hot water heater.
What makes the Rheem twin element hot water unit so unique is that it encompasses two individual water heaters and correspondingly, two separate thermostats. These two units work together to provide the home with around the clock hot water. The unit located at the bottom of the Rheem 315L hot water system is responsible for supplying the home with hot water during times of normal hot water demand, whilst the unit located up the top of the system comes into play when water demand is unusually high. This means that even at times of peak water demand, such as when the kids are all getting ready for school in the mornings, there is a booster-style system in place to ensure that supply meets demand.
After just a few moments assessing the Rheem twin element hot water boiler, it was easy for our plumber to see that the system would need to be replaced. Luckily, he was up to the challenge and provided the customer with a complete and comprehensive quotation to supply and install a new system of the same specifications that very same day. The customer gratefully accepted and was pleased that she could utilise Female Choice Plumbing’s fantastic interest free terms (to approved applicants only). By the time the sun set, there was a new hot water system in place and the customer could enjoy a long hot shower that evening.
