Less than an hour after our plumber arrived onsite, we had replaced the thermostat, And the customer had hot water flowing again!– The thermostat an important safety devise within a hot water system which turns off the gas flow when no pilot light is detected. However – if this is not functioning properly can cause the gas to turn off resulting in no hot water.
